Hi everyone, I'm not very expert but I was wondering if the video cable that comes behind the MIB2 STD central display could be split and an output converted to HDMI to be able to see everything that is seen on the main display also on a secondary display via HDMI.

Splitter: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005006151923557.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller.4.713a3gKi3gKiZ8&gps-id=pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40000.327270.0&scm_id=1007.40000.327270.0&scm-url=1007.40000.327270.0&pvid=33dbee6c-32ac-46c3-bb5b-17374cc6843f&_t=gps-id:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40000.327270.0,pvid:33dbee6c-32ac-46c3-bb5b-17374cc6843f,tpp_buckets:668#2846#8111#1996&pdp_npi=4@dis!EUR!37.81!21.93!!!41.10!23.84!@211b6c7017244029226752375e38cd!12000035999976347!rec!IT!2337487559!XZ&utparam-url=scene:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller|query_from:

I only find this type of converter: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1000...DsA18rVsCZYm3mKFz6J9bMhbaS01ZKUBoC0tUQAvD_BwE

What do you think? Is it a possible solution?
Searching on the internet I can't find anything on the subject, is it possible that no one has ever tried to have a second monitor in the car, maybe for the back seats.

Thanks to everyone

I'm mildly interested in this 🤣. What is the goal? And if you don't mind my asking why do you want to convert to HDMI?

My inclination, without having done any research, would be to grab a spare factory screen. You can use the cable you linked to split the lvds. Then you've got to figure out the signals on the other connector that goes to the screen, and presumably just provide power and ground.

Again I haven't done any research, but maybe this gets you a mirror of the screen. If you also want that screen to have control capability I suppose you could build a y cable and split the other connector into two to feed the AFT monitor but I suspect the MIB might have a problem with that.

Hi, I'm thinking about hdmi to have more choice about which display i can connect. plus i already have a digital cockpit cluster with hdmi input to connect.

Yes It can be useful to see maps. At the moment I will connect the hdmi to an android box with hdmi output and connected with usb to activate android auto.

but I would have liked to be able to have everything that is transmitted on the mib including the rear camera. otherwise for the rear camera I would have to split the signal on the blue connector towards rca and then convert it to hdmi and then with an hdmi splitter that switches automatically connect it to the cockpit. but it seems a bit tricky to me

Maybe not the solution that you are looking for, but there's a project that enables VNC client on MIB2 unit and connects to server (Android phone) to mirror the phone to the MIB2 Virtual Cockpit. And I believe one could also install VNC server on MIB2 and stream the image to external display via the protocol.

Hi, I bought some cables in China to convert LVDS to USB and then convert it to HDMI, as soon as they arrive I'll do a test and let you know. The diagram would be this one:
