MIB2 Firmware / CarPlay Question

I have a retrofitted 3Q0035846 in my 2015 MK7 GTI and I'm absolutely loving it since I pulled that trigger. There's one down side, however, and that's the ever-present echo that the person on the other end hears on a phone call while using Carplay. I've researched the issue until I've run out of leads, and the last thing I can try is updating the firmware (currently on MST2_US-VW-ZR_P0241T). The only reason this is a huge deal is that I spend all day in my car. It's my office. So I'd love to be able to have phone calls that don't make me have to dig out the AirPods all the time while I'm driving and use the system as intended.

Doing my research, it looks like 0253 is the latest "official" firmware (if I'm wrong, I'd love for someone to correct me). How would I go about updating the firmware in my unit without bricking it or re-enabling CP?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Update to P0253T,
enable developer mode with OBDeleven,
install MST2 Toolbox,
use the toolbox to patch CP and SWaP.

You should also upload correct dataset/parameterizations with VCP or CarScanner. This controls sound curves and (most likely) microphone behavior.
