Looking for advice on a spare tire compartment liner that will fit my mk7.5 GTI.

Hey guys, needing to get a new liner for the spare tire compartment. I found one here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Boot-Cover...l-Compartment-VW-Golf-7-VII-MK7-/164262726611 but it ships from germany and idk if their part numbers are different.

I tried searching for a US equivalent and found this https://www.oempartsource.com/oem-parts/volkswagen-liner-5g9863544bca9 it seems like it is essentially the same? but if I put in a 2019 gti the site says that it does not fit.

It seems this part is called like random things and is really hard to search. Any help is appreciated.

I purchased a 2019 after having a 2015 GTI. From my experience installing stereo equipment and sound deadening, everything, far as I could tell, is the same back there. The part # is 5GM-863-007-CA9. The only reason I can see them excluding 2019 on the site is it wasn't standard thanks to VW cheapening these cars??? Regardless, I've read other places from people that were miffed about no liner in their 2019 and bought this part# and it fit fine. I've googled myself and found them around $90-100.

I bought one at carid.com . If they list it for your car it will fit. Good price also.

no shit, some of the 2019's didn't even come with a liner? that doesn't seem possible that VW would skimp out on a $20 to them piece of shaped carpet.

Each new model year of the GTI VW has removed features that were standard on the previous model.

^^that. Saving $2.34 per car x 600K (world wide) is real $. All mfrs do it, sometimes they add features sometimes they take them away. Only one of those things gets promoted in the sales brochure.

That is the exact same one I bought, there is no divider. I also put the under hood liner in.

Did you remove the factory-applied Sound Absorbing Pads that surround the perimeter of the spare tire well before you installed the Liner?

Honestly, I don't remember, but I think I moved them inside of the liner.

Do you mean that you pulled them off the body and stuck them to the liner? I took a look at my Sound Absorbers and they're mighty sticky. I'm guessing that they'd leave an ugly mess behind if removed?

Reviving this old dead thread to ask if the 5GM-863-007-CA9 liner will fit my naked and ugly MK7.5 2021 S model spare tire well. Any changes to the sheet metal that might cause it to not fit properly?

I just completed the install today using this part: 5GM-863-007-CA9. I got it used from AH Parts near Sacramento, CA and had it shipped to me in FL.

The liner fit perfectly over the pads, not a single bulge or wrinkle. The spare tire and roadside tire change kit also fit nicely in the carpeted well. It looks fantastic.
