How did you re-key it? I know you can get VW's lock tumblers but I haven't been able to get my hands on a kit. They were standard on early Mk7 GTI's. Got a 2015 glove box from a junk yard for $65 and re-keyed it to my car.
Got this kit on Ebay:How did you re-key it? I know you can get VW's lock tumblers but I haven't been able to get my hands on a kit.
Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I’m not sure which ones I need cause I can’t get the lock out. How’d you get yours out?Got this kit on Ebay:

All I needed was one tumbler but my local lock stores said they didn't have them or refused to sell it to me because I wasn't a real locksmith.
I had to replace a #4 and move the other two. Let me know what you need and I'll mail them.
The cylinder is held in by small plastic clips so be careful removing it. I think the key has seven tumblers but the glovebox only uses 2 through 4.
Put it in a vise and applied pressure while I worked the plastic clips. Placed a small socket to push the cylinder into the hole of a roll of electrical tape. Sprayed the clips with WD40. Worst case is a new handle for $25.Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I’m not sure which ones I need cause I can’t get the lock out. How’d you get yours out?
