With car that has such a close following I know it's common for those driving a previous generation to have a bais towards their model but I feel the MK7 is quite an upgrade all around.

Totally agree!! same thing happened when MK6 was launched

Yep. It happened with the MKV came out as well. Its just a societal norm.

MK7 on paper is the overall better car inside and out. ....Now.....we'll need to see about subjectivity

Naaah that's just the steering wheel of the normal mk7 Golf, which is (from a sports car perspective) even worse than that of the mk7 GTI.
I hope they stick to the steering wheel they showed in GTI concept if they're thinking of changing to this

Overall, really like it.

I like its agressive look, new engine specs, the weight saving, and I can wait to see how the MQB plateform handles.

The stripe in the headlights, not too sure, it will probably grow on me, but not the badges, uhuh, really don't like them.

Oh, and i wan't a battery box, not a piece of shitty fabric.
