Leaking oil from axle

Sorry for the dumb title, I’m just trying to figure out what I’ve got here with my car. Tech noted an oil leak underneath when changing my clutch about a month ago, when I did my oil change I noted a bunch of oil underneath the car so I went in for a better look. It appears it’s leaking from where the axle/cv joint goes into the transmission, quite a bit of oil leaking but no big puddles under the car, few drops noted when I was inspecting it.
Few questions, does gearbox oil look like engine oil? It’s appearing lighter then I would have expected (about 100k on the car now)
And has this happened to anyone else? I’ll have to do some research to see if this is within my scope of handyman car work and how quickly I’ll need to fix it.

I thought I remembered a similar issue. We provided the correct torque values which resolved issue. I will dig up in my old posts.

I had a torn inner cv boot that and sprayed oil about the engine compartment. Boot tears are not always obvious. Might want to rule that out.

Exactly what it was, to update I had it diagnosed at a good local shop. Also had a leak at my timing chain cover, so it was hard to tell crawling under my car. Thank god for real car mechanics haha
