Hey Guys,
I was changing my oil today and noticed some residue that appeared to come from the axle area. I gave it a quick wipe with a towel and found it was thick and grimy. This car has had a major repair done in the past where they had to replace the axle. Could anyone confirm the source of this? it appears to be engine oil but I did not have time today to remove the wheel and inspect the area any further. Id appreciate some direction! just wondering if I should take it back to the people who repaired it through insurance or if its something unrelated or could delve into it myself. I have decent knowledge of repairs but have never done anything major.
I drive a 2016 Mk7 GTi SE non-performance pack.
