Late build date on my 2019

So I have been looking over the car and so far have been very happy with the care the dealer took of it while
in their possession. No bad swirl marks in the paint, and the car feels great.
One interesting thing I noticed is the build date is way later than I ever imagined a car could be
but hey, what do I know? So I have a 2019 GTI SE that was built in September of 2019.
The good thing is it wasn't sitting as long as I imagined. Only a few months instead of a year or longer.

I’d be stoked on that. i had a ‘12 CC with a build date Dec ’10. Dealership guys were always scratching their head, re look at VIN. Knew it was a ’12, pistol grip shifter and clock, must have been one of the first off the line

I'm surprised a September build would still be a '19 model. Bonanza for you though - you get the better warranty. Nice score.

Just checked and mine was a Sep 2019 build as well. Purchased in Feb 2020.

I think the only difference between a 2019 and a 2020 is a few more standard features on some models, a $300 increase in upcharge to get the DSG, and
apparently the 2020 has a built-in wifi hotspot. So aside from that I guess the line kept running as in 2019. There is also a shorter warranty and 2 years of maintenance for 2020.

Is that software patch considered a recall? I have a 2018 so my VIN won't work. How do you find out if there are any software updates for your model year without being charged by the dealer?

Alas, my 2019 Pure White SE GTI also has a build date of 09/19.

Our 2019 Alltrack purchased last week was built 10/17/19. Wished I knew how long it sat on the dealer lot.
