Hi,
So I have a 2013 mk7 Golf that has ACC factory fitted and many other extras. One of the few things missing was the front assist camera (A5 module). I recently had my windscreen replaced for one with the camera bracket. After much research and speaking with someone specialising in retrofits I decided to get the windscreen that supports the later mk7.5 facelift camera (3q0). I fitted the camera, added the wiring harness, including the canbus wires to my factory fitted ACC radar. I had someone remotely assist with the calibration and checking over the coding and adaptation changes. This is where the issues started - with the lane assist camera coded I had an error that lane assist and ACC were unavailable. The guy then tried to get ACC back by changing the coding of my A5 camera to tell it I don't have ACC fitted. This results in ACC working again. I have no errors until I try to enable lane assist - it then flashes up that lane assist is currently unavailable.
Traffic sign recognition is working fine (on my nav unit it displays, but not on my instrument cluster - if I try then I get a software version error on my instrument cluster - I believe the unit has too old a firmware version to be able to handle the sign display). High beam assist works perfectly though.
With the camera coded to not have an ACC radar, then I have a single databus error on the A5 module. If the camera is coded to have the ACC radar then I get multiple databus communication errors.
The guy that assisted me with this says that it must be my gateway that is incompatible. The thing is, its a high gateway and non of the errors point to the gateway being the issue.
So I have a few questions:
1) Should I be able to use lane assist without ACC even though my car has an ACC radar?
2) Does anyone have a 3q0 camera successfully working with an original LRR round ACC radar?
3) Has anyone else ever experienced similar errors with lane assist being unavailable, but no significant errors indicating why?
4) Is there any way for me to have more solid information that this is a gateway issue?
Thanks in advance
