Hey!
I’ve installed foot well lightning in my Golf S 2015 and it works as expected, but I can’t see the % setting under “Lights” menu in my MIB2 system. I have the opportunity to change the intensity only with cluster brightness slider. As far as I understand the setting in adaptation which should add “Footwell lights” menu is “IDE09732-ENG114629-Interior light: light configuration-Foot well lighting”, correct? Can someone suggest what could be the reason?

I’ve done next adaptations for 09 block, long coding wasn’t used:

IDE09732-ENG114629-Interior light: light configuration-Foot well lighting -> installed
ENG116966-ENG116442-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lasttyp 30 -> 36 - LED Kleinleistung
IDE05145-ENG116444-Light configuration-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 30 -> 2
ENG116966-ENG116445-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion A 30 -> Footwell light
IDE05145-ENG116447-Light configuration-Dimmwert AB 30 -> 85
ENG116966-ENG116446-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion B 30 -> Terminal 58xs dimmer
ENG116966-ENG116449-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion C 30 -> Interior light
IDE05145-ENG116448-Light configuration-Lichtansteuerung HD AB 30 -> Always

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

This has already ben discussed over 10 times in this thread. Please look in the previous posts for the correct coding; the one you posted is a workaround.

Not sure if this thread is still active, but here goes.

I installed footwell lights in my 2015 Golf SV some time ago and everything worked perfectly.
Then I swapped out the MIB1 infotainment unit for a retrofitted MIB2 system with 0254 firmware.

Now the footwell lights are still working and I can set their levels in the coding, BUT when I change the code on "Central Electrics; Interior light; light configuration-Fussraumbeleuchtung" from "not installed" to "installed" the Footwell Light Slider no longer appears in the "Lights" menu on the infotainment unit.
Instead a "Background Lighting" option appears.

The adaptation code "Central Electrics; Interior light, light configuration: Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen" seems to control the availability on this "Background Lighting" option.
When it's set to "not active" then the Background Lighting menu says "Function Not Available".
Set it to "active" and the menu opens to a blank screen with a single slider on the bottom which doesn't appear to do anything.
Either way, there's no sign of the "Footwell Light" slider anywhere at all.

I believe the Background Lighting option is used for setting a range of multi-colour interior ambient lighting add-ons, but as I don't have any of these I have no use for it.

Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of the "Background Lighting" menu option and put my footwell light control back to where it was - just one simple slider below the Instrument Cluster slider in the "Lights" menu.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I always had MIB2 and mine has both footwell lighting and background lighting. I believe the background lighting controls the interior lights, not even sure.

I can post my adaptation map if you want.

No. Given up for now.
Got fixed footwell light levels set in coding.
Can't get rid of Background Lighting option in MIB2, but it doesn't do anything.
May get back to it when I have a bit more time.

The guy who supplied my MIB2 told me this:

All the settings for that are within 09 not 5F and would need VCDS

Hello All,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have successfully retrofitted footwell lights on my 2019 NAR GSW 4mo using the Kufatec wiring. Here is what I did:

Wired to C72 and ground.

Performed this coding:
Adaption Channel:From:To:
IDE09732-ENG114629-Interior light: light configuration-Foot well lightingnot installedinstalled
IDE11477-ENG128539-Interior lighting: parameter-p_adaption_kundenwunsch_fussraum00.2

IDE11477-ENG128545-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_andereTuer_auf_zuendung_ein_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128547-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_dieseTuer_auf_zuendung_aus_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128544-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_dieseTuer_auf_zuendung_ein_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128549-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_einausstieg_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128554-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Fzg_geschlossen_schluessel_ab_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128550-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Fzg_geschlossen_zuendung_aus_fussraum0127%
IDE11477-ENG128546-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Fzg_geschlossen_zuendung_ein_fussraum0126%
IDE11477-ENG128543-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_HD_auf_zuendung_aus_fussraum0127%
IDE11477-ENG128542-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_HD_auf_zuendung_ein_fussraum0126%
IDE11477-ENG128541-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_max_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128551-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Tueren_geschlossen_HD_auf_zuendung_aus_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128552-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Tueren_geschlossen_HD_zu_zuendung_aus_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128553-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Tueren_geschlossen_schluessel_ab_fussraum070%
ENG116966-ENG116447-Leuchte30FR LC72-Dimmwert AB 30089
ENG116966-ENG116444-Leuchte30FR LC72-Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 3002
ENG116966-ENG116442-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lasttyp 30not active36 - LED Kleinleistung
ENG116966-ENG116445-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion A 30not activeFootwell light

This completely worked for me and allows for HMI dimming adjustment.

I based all of this coding off of my friends 2019 Golf R. This should work fine in a 2018 as well as my friends 2018 GSW has the same adaptions.
Hi, just came across this post as today, yes Christmas Eve i fitted front footwell lights to my 2019 VW Golf 1.5 tsi. Using VCDS I got the message in image one so I used the adaption function and managed to find IDE09732-ENG114629 that’s on the top of your list and although my car screen now shows footwell lights they done come on. Do I need to also do the two lines on the bottom of your list too?
On my photo marked 3 Now this is where I’m stuck as in image 3 where my red arrow is pointing where do I find (Ambient lighting-innenlichtinszenierung = installed (ambient lighting-interior lighting)?
Thanks
Paul

Did you check for the presence of the physical pin at position c72? I'm wondering if you have the low-line BCM and if it doesn't support footwell lights.

I installed them on my 2017 US-spec Golf, base model, but it had the mid-line BCM which supports fog lights, footwells, etc.

This was the coding I used:

I didn’t check the presence as so hard to see the bcm module. I managed to un clip the connector and fit the red wire/pin. Mine is a UK spec mid range 1.5 tsi se nav.

Just a guess, but if you have an SE with Nav you probably have at least a mid-level BCM. I had to squeeze my phone camera up into that space by the BCM connectors and snap random shots until I had some that showed the actual pins and pin positions, that's how I verified my BCM was compatible.

Here is the photo I managed to capture of pin C72 of BCM socket C
