Can't get to work!

I have a 2018 GSW and I added the set of 4 lights using this as a guide, confirmed that the DIS shows the lights with the slider now, however I have no lights coming on at all. I am coding using OBD11 and saw one of the adaptations listed is "interior lights 2nd generation"?? I may need to go back and remove all the changes I made and start over but any ideas on how to proceed? only thing i didn't do so far is try to jump the lights harness just to show that they indeed work.

I have a golf tsi mk7.5 2018. I bought the foot lights and would like to get the installation settings.

i don't think anyone has figured out how to add footwells to work with ambient lighting on vehicles not already equipped with ambient lighting. I added footwells and had the same issue, however I don't really care about ambient lighting. I wanted mine to come on full brightness with the interior lights, which I programmed them to do, and which works great.

How do I code for the golf mk7.5 footlight?

Anyone who got the slider to work?

This is driving me crazy. From what I researched so far during my tests:

Lichtfunktion A: Footwell Lights -- not sure what this does.
Lichtfunktion B: dimm58xs -- This one controls the state of the lights when the doors are closed. "dimm58xs" is the dimmer for the interior light. Using the slider for "interior light" on the MMI does control the footwell lights.
Lichtfunktion C: Interior Light -- This one controls the state of the lights when the doors are open, aka fed from the interior lights which is 100% brightness.

I'm 100% sure it has to do with Lichtfunktion B, but I'm not sure what value to put there to make it work with the MMI.

EDIT: After looking online for other coding options, I found someone who posted an adapation map from an original equipped car. His car had Lichtfunktion B as "Not Active", which doesn't make sense as this will make the footwell lights not work. So I figured out the "dimm58xs" is just a workaround because no one could ever realize what the proper coding for this retrofit is.

Also, with "dimm58xs", the footwell lights are on even when the low beam are off (aka DRL only). This is not a normal behavior - they should only turn on when the low beam is on.

Hello All,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have successfully retrofitted footwell lights on my 2019 NAR GSW 4mo using the Kufatec wiring. Here is what I did:

Wired to C72 and ground.

Performed this coding:
Adaption Channel:From:To:
IDE09732-ENG114629-Interior light: light configuration-Foot well lightingnot installedinstalled
IDE11477-ENG128539-Interior lighting: parameter-p_adaption_kundenwunsch_fussraum00.2

IDE11477-ENG128545-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_andereTuer_auf_zuendung_ein_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128547-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_dieseTuer_auf_zuendung_aus_fussraum070%
IDE11477-ENG128544-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_dieseTuer_auf_zuendung_ein_fussraum070%

IDE11477-ENG128553-Interior lighting: parameter-p_helligkeit_Tueren_geschlossen_schluessel_ab_fussraum070%

ENG116966-ENG116442-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lasttyp 30not active36 - LED Kleinleistung
ENG116966-ENG116445-Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion A 30not activeFootwell light

This completely worked for me and allows for HMI dimming adjustment.

I based all of this coding off of my friends 2019 Golf R. This should work fine in a 2018 as well as my friends 2018 GSW has the same adaptions.

Indeed, this is the same coding o_ravi posted on my thread and it works with the MMI slider.

Glad to see you got it working as well! Cheers.

Hey, congrats on the GSW. Didn't you have a short golf previously?

Question-- I currently have footwell lights retrofitted to come on with the interior lights (LC72-Lichtfunktion A 30 set to "Innenlicht"), with Dimmwert AB set to 100% for max brightness. Can you remind me again the priority rank order of the Lichtfunktion channels? Does A-B get priority over C-D or is it the other way around? What I'd like to do is program them as dimmable footwells per the table above, but have the interior light function override when the door is open. I really like having them come on full brightness with the interior lights. I just don't know if Footwells should get channel A and Innenlicht get channel C or visa verse.

LC72
Lichtfunktion A is “Footwell Lights”
Lichtfunktion B is “58xs dimmer” - brightness is controlled through the rotary light switch.
Lichtfunktion C is “Interior Lights” - Open door, brightness is overridden by Interior Lights (100%).

Yeah. Someone made an illegal from the shoulder u-turn with a Dodge Ram 2500 HD without looking or signaling and I think you know where this is going.... It's been rough. At least I got into a long roof now with a longer warranty (even though I seem to be already voiding the electrical warranty with temp tags on it...)

H takes priority over G and G takes priority over F, and so on.

With my coding, they do come on full brightness when the door opens. I'd say back everything out currently set and code with the above. I have been very happy with it so far as it is exactly how my late Golf's footwell lights worked from the factory.

I have installed the footwell lights and made the configuration, but I have the same problem that has already been said, it works fine but I can't adjust the intensity through the mmi. I see a lot of codings but a lot of confusion, I'm using obdeleven.
Sorry to be digging up the topic

Check post #53 on thread. Don't have experience with OBDEleven so you can ask on their forums how to apply adaptations.
