Hey guys,
I'm brand new to the forum, so I'll thank you in advance for your patience with me. I just bought a 2016 GTI Autobahn with the performance package. I'll be flying from Birminham to Miami later this week to get it and drive her home. It has a clean body and Interior and has approximately 36k miles on it. I was able to get it for $21,299. Is this a decent price? Also, anything I should know about it prior to driving it 12 hours home?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. The price sounds a little high but used car prices are inflated right now. Sounds like you haven't seen or driven the car in person so I hope there's a way you can get out of the purchase if you find problems. If you do drive it home I would at least change the oil and do common things like checking the condition of the tires and pressure. I hope everything checks out and it certainly sounds like a fun trip. Best of luck to you.

Congrats! If that was the price after taxes you did well considering the times! Post up pics when you can and also do the following when you get back home:
Change engine oil, transmission fluid and brake fluid.

Congrats and welcome to the club....you're now playing the game. I've done that one-way trip a few times to buy a car....it's pretty exciting. Are you buying from a private owner or dealership (VW or other)? Is it manual or DSG (you're just under the DSG service)?

Congrats and welcome!
Do you know what other options it has? Some are easy to figure out, but the original window sticker would be great to have if they kept it. I also have a 2016 AB, but unlike later years where they bundled everything, there were still a lot of optional equipment packages and it will be good to know what yours has. You already mentioned the performance package, which you'll be glad you have. Other notable packages/options were the lighting package (HID w/cornering lights) and DCC (adaptive suspension).

I bought the same car as you back in March 2018. 2016 Autobahn, 6sp, Tornado Red, DCC, PP, LP, 11,900 miles for about $22,000 on the road. Best car I have ever owned. Only problem was a leaking thermostat housing (warranty). I just had the front end repainted (hit a piece of plywood that floated up in traffic), APR Stage 1 back in April and it's in the shop today getting a valve clean. It's still like a new car, still smells new! Best of luck with your baby.

You got a great deal at that time but again, the times have changed dramatically with used car sells. I'd say, he probably got about as good as it can get for these times.

Welcome. Sounds like a lot of fun to drive a new car home for awhile getting to know her real well. Curious if manual or auto. I would also check the oil PRIOR to driving it home. The last thing you want is to run it dry with that long drive. Once you do complete the trip, change the oil.

It’s a DSG. Buying from Florida Fine Cars in Miami.
