Agreed.

My last 2 cars at least had audio controls on the wheel... at first I was disappointed with the lack of steering wheel buttons, but the longer I have the car, the more pleased I am with the simplicity of the steering wheel.

I was stunned when I first realized that it didn't have any buttons on the wheel. Then when I saw VW actually REDESIGNED the right stalk, I couldn't believe it was cheaper than just installing the steering wheel buttons. However, getting used to it, I like it. It's kind of a throwback to my old cars that didn't have buttons, and it's kinda neat.

The thing that gets me about buttons is that they're only useful if you can use them by feel alone. When you've got 20+ buttons on the steering wheel, you still have to look down to find the one you want. How is that more useful than just putting the button by the radio? Steering wheel buttons are getting out of hand, IMO.

I think the GTI does a pretty decent job with button placement. There's a center button and 'd-pad' on either side, with an auxiliary button underneath. Wish those two extras were further in, though, so I didnt hit them inadvertantly.

The mustang's buttons look so cluttered because they're in a grid. People's minds don't think efficiently in grids. [/talkingoutofass] The focus' dash has a grid layout and it's worse to use than a smartphone while driving.

I don't get this button gripe... I love my steering wheel buttons and use them more than any other buttons in the car period.

Here are a lot of buttons... but I am sure once you get used to it, it works great.

So after giving it more thought, the 2.3 turbo is the right engine for the European/World markets, the 3.7 is too big so now it makes more sense, I don't think Ford will bring those big engines across the pond or just in really limited #s for the 5.0, the 3.7 offshore makes no sense.

LOL, it just dawned on me. I feel real bad for those mustang owners that preach "There's no replacement for displacement."...with the new turbo engine. The tables have turned. :fighting0030:

..... or if you're into modding you buy the 5.0 and put a turbocharger on it for 800+ HP?

Or a supercharger?

All for pretty darn close to what it costs for an APR Stage 3+...

i believe for the european market, most future 2.3 mustang owners would very likely for someone who wants a cool car and doesn't know the essence of a muscle car. i remember jeremy saying in one of those episodes "you can keep that engine" when he said the 2.3 offering to europe
