My real question is... How will they differentiate the 2.3T rom the 3.7?!

It would be nearly unheard of to have that engine put down anything more than 320hp and the base 3.7 is already at a healthy 305...

You said "heathy" but that engine feels anything but heathy for 305 HP. The 2.3 on the other hand is delivering a buttload of torque. It'll feel faster, much faster, around town. On the track, 305 HP is 305 HP (gearing notwithstanding), unless the 2.3 can deliver that 305 hp between 4500 and 6k rpm. Then it'll have the v6 beat.

I've heard rumors that the 3.7 will be the base and the 2.3T will be the midrange. It's interesting positioning, and makes sense in that perhaps the 2.3T will be the proper driver's car, while the 5.0 will be the drag racer's car, and the V6 will continue to be for secretaries? I'm very interested in the 2.3T and hearing driving impressions of that engine. I hate Ford and this car, but I give credit where credit is due, and I think this could be game changing if executed right.

The 2.3 is confirmed to be up-model from the v6. Check out the vid I posted a few pages back.

Drive one that's not an automatic convertible rental car, that engine is fine.

Yes the transmission had a lot to do with how anemic that powertrain felt. I still feel that powertrain is best suited to a base model SUV though. It's from another time. This is 2014.

Speaking of, I love what this guy had to say. Best business and marketing analysis on any new vehicle launch.

New shots of the interior. Doesn't look so bad. I like the saddle brown leather.

I don't know if I'd say dated. Certainly nothing revolutionary.

Agreed, the steering wheel has way too much going on. Seems to be an ongoing trend.

Steering wheel buttons are kind of gay in general. Cruise, volume and a seek/next track function are alright, anything more, talk about clutter.

I actually find it refreshing that my Yaris has absolutely NO buttons on the wheel. The volume knob isn't that far away, and the MFD works well enough through the right stalk.

Agreed.

My last 2 cars at least had audio controls on the wheel... at first I was disappointed with the lack of steering wheel buttons, but the longer I have the car, the more pleased I am with the simplicity of the steering wheel.

I was stunned when I first realized that it didn't have any buttons on the wheel. Then when I saw VW actually REDESIGNED the right stalk, I couldn't believe it was cheaper than just installing the steering wheel buttons. However, getting used to it, I like it. It's kind of a throwback to my old cars that didn't have buttons, and it's kinda neat.

The thing that gets me about buttons is that they're only useful if you can use them by feel alone. When you've got 20+ buttons on the steering wheel, you still have to look down to find the one you want. How is that more useful than just putting the button by the radio? Steering wheel buttons are getting out of hand, IMO.
