After my MK6 was totaled back in February, I bought a MK4 1.8T to tide me over until the MK7 R came out. After it being delayed from the supposed August release to Q1 2015, to summer 2015 (for the manual version), I decided that with the growing list of issues with my MK4 that I needed to buy a new car sooner rather than later.
I decided to check out the GTI the other night, with the sole intention of only test driving it. After the drive, we talked some numbers so I would have an idea what to expect. I was able to get a decent deal, as well as some money on my MK4 trade in (which I honestly didn't expect much, if any, at all). The sales rep was able to locate a GTI with the specs I wanted.
With that said, Saturday morning at 9:00, I will be picking up my MK7 GTI SE in Night Blue Metallic with 4 doors, 6MT, and lighting package. While the AWD of the R would have been nice, I had no issues with the FWD in my previous GTI last winter, even with going up north a few dozen times for my snowboarding endeavors.
I'm stoked!
Pictures to follow!
