George or the JB4 forum supports all end users - that's the biggest appeal of that device. You can simply change the map or build your own map 6 if you'd like.

Given they're separate products on the BMS website, I would assume not. Cross-compatible units are listed as such.

The group numbers were put in there for sales tracking purposes. Some of them are interchangable - such as the Golf R and the GTI. Just not sure about the 1.8L. Im reasonably sure its the same hardware, just not sure about the firmware.

Just contacted George from BMS. He confirmed that group 2 and group 3 are the same unit and are compatible.

Yes, new directly from BMS the begining of May. Less than 5k on it, probably closer to 3k. I work from home (and have even before all this covid stuff) so I just dont drive it all that much.
