JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

Hi guys,

I've been trying to get my Absolute Map 6 E30 map set up from last year since we still have some cold weather.

I noticed through a few of the logs that I get these AFR spikes when I initially get on the throttle. Is this normal? Never had this in my old logs:

https://datazap.me/u/jranchod16/m6-e30-absolu-afr-spike-1?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-18-21-25-26-28https://datazap.me/u/jranchod16/m6-e30-absolu-afr-spike-2?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-18-21-25-26-27-28https://datazap.me/u/jranchod16/m6-e30-absolu-afr-spike-3?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-18-21-25-26-27-28
Still stock hardware DSG, no aftermarket down-pipe or Inter cooler or Intake. FOL 60.

Thanks Diggs. Since you showed me how to valuable the Load function was, I've been steering away from the new firmware - it made looking at logs a little easier for me. I guess it may be time.

Thank you for the reply Diggs24 so once I put in the numbers I will run a log and we should be able to slowly crank up like .5 on the boost after 4,000 rpms? Also 4,000 is where you want to be making boost because of the stock clutch right?

so like

yes and that's where it starts diving. also, you won't be able to crank anything up higher than this due to 91ACN.
are talking about not being able to crank it up after I just did the .5 that I added or what you originally said. Also i have e85 5 mins away if I add like 3.5 gallons of e85 which should be close to e30 can I make a custom tune that I can swap between the 2 on map 6? Sorry JB4 is new but I’ve been around 335is for a long time.

Yeah, if you add e85 you can crank it up, but that clutch won't last.

figured I’m saving for a new clutch the car has 1,500 miles on it currently

Yes the stock clutch dont hold big power long...and I’m going to be upgrading mine soon, but I will say, I’ve been JB4 since like 2000 miles, and stage 2 since like 6k with e30 map 6 setting pretty much like this

1500 0
2000 2
2500 3
3000 3
3500 3.5
4000 4.5
4500 5.5
5000 6.5
5500 7
6000 7
6500 6
7000 6

And now I’m at 19k, with zero slip (knock on wood still) i thinks it’s in part how the driver gets on it and the life of the clutch already

Also my mk6 went stage 1 at 60k and is at 117k now and the clutch is holding.

That’s pretty impressive and yeah if you’re launching the car dragging the car and lugging the shit out of it I’m sure the clutch won’t last I’m 29 and been driving a stick since I was 16 and I’ve gone through plenty of clutches to understand what kills them.

Downpipe, intake, exhaust, front mount intercooler. Full Bolton’s basically. About to slap a hybrid on there too just to see what happens, lol. I know the clutch won’t hold that so it will get dialed down quite a bit for the first month I’m sure.
