IS38 GTI Quartermile record recaptured

After EUex and a long trip Ryan went a day later back to the track to recapture his record.

Ryans GTI runs a stock IS38 turbo, JB4 stacked over a OTS APR Stage 2+ tune with our meth kit.

Car ran with two bucket seats and rear seat removed on M&H tires.

We utilized the JB4 boost per gear and car was set to 27psi peak down to 20psi at redline.

Fuel was 93 with meth injection and a CM7 jet.

As mentioned before the car has had this time in it for a while just needed to get the traction ducks in the row. Now to shed some weight, play with some race fuel mixes and try hit for a 10. What is incredible is that this is the cars 3rd track outing only.

^It is a DSG. Huge advantage over 6MT, especially for launching. There is no real way for manual cars to build significant boost off the line, even on slicks.

LOL that is an INSANE trap speed and time from an IS38. No need for APR ST3.

In general CM5 is recommended for jet size. On higher boost cars and going into summer we trying out CM7.

So if I am running an is38 with 27-28 psi its worth playing and logging with? Not trying to derail as this 11.2 is awesome!

This is the error most people make trying to boost too high. At a certain point the turbo efficiency drops dramatically and the extra boost just causes issues. This works for this car with decent timing and the tune is set for highway runs specifically as this is where the car excels.

Is this more to do with the adaptation of the APR S2+ tune then, which added a ton of timing because of the meth? I mean, that run is 6-7mph over the next closest.
