Lol you can turn the contact photos off if you don't want them. Also pretty sure contact pics have worked on Android forever. They did in 2014 when I bought my car and had an HTC one.

Better in terms of sound quality, but inferior in terms of convenience; especially for those that have built up a library of streaming music.

Yes, streaming is another matter entirely. But for owned music, going SD or USB is *infinitely* superior, with zero downsides.

They're not nudes, just an easy way to keep track of some of my contacts from the fairer sex.

What do you guys use CarPlay for? I have disabled it completely. So many annoying things about CarPlay. 1) the two screens should be independent, there is no reason for the two screens to show the same exact information. Trying to display a song name and google maps at the same time (one thing on each screen) is impossible (possible with Bluetooth connection / not CarPlay). Also I hate how when I click on the phone icon it disables my music instead of bringing up my contact list / favorites / recents. I don't want to talk to Siri, I want to call the person with a touch (again, possible with Bluetooth connection and not carplay). And finally, no google maps or Waze on CarPlay. Who uses Apple maps? Whoever is in charge of CarPlay at Apple should be slapped. Twice. Then fired.

I pulled the Android Auto app off my phone entirely (among other things, the data it was collecting and transmitting IN THE CLEAR had me fairly concerned). I can play my music off bluetooth, calls work fine off it, and I have a magnetic mount in the vent for if I need to use navigation. No real use for Android Auto, plus i despise the look of it

Cool. I'll run the 11 beta eventually, but I want a few public beta releases to get out before making the move. Too early for my blood right now.

Running iOS11 beta with CarPlay on MIB-II running SW 0346, don't notice any particular CarPlay bugs (and I'm picky!) but the beta drains the phone battery like crazy. Avoid.

Ah, good info, thanks. Not surprising, previous early betas have had crappy battery performance issues too. Will probably get cleaned up quickly. I'll wait.
