Touring Edition

Engineered to perfection, the Touring Edition Exhaust is designed to give your Golf 1.8T a more aggressive, but comfortable tone that perfectly builds upon the Golf’s demeanor. The Touring Edition Exhaust features a resonated front section and replaces the large stock rear muffler with a centrally located straight-through muffler.

Track Edition

Featuring a straight-through design, the Track Edition Exhaust revamps the Mk7 Golf attitude entirely, providing a more pronounced, aggressive tone in the mid range by replacing the forward resonator with a straight pipe section. This provides an ample dose of grunt without being boomy inside the cabin. This product cannot be returned or exchanged based upon volume preference!

Performance Downpipe

To further hone the tone and performance of your Golf 1.8T, we’re offering the AWE Tuning Performance Downpipe. Featuring a unique flex-pipe section to isolate engine movement, AWE Tuning’s No Check Engine Light Guarantee, Fitment Guarantee, and our Lifetime Warranty on the downpipe (one year on the catalyst).



Cat-delete Performance Downpipe

Looking for an even more aggressive tone? The AWE Tuning Cat-Delete Performance Downpipe will do the trick. All of the bespoke engineering from the Performance Downpipe, minus the catalyst. Please note that due to the removal of the catalyst, the “No CEL Guarantee” is not applicable, and this product is for track use only. This product cannot be returned or exchanged based upon volume preference.


Tip Options

All tip options include the AWE Tuning logo, and double walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. All tips are individually adjustable, allowing depth into the bumper to be set according to personal taste.

Consider my interest piqued. It looks like the rear section could possibly be replaced with a straight pipe for those that want to run the dual middle exhaust bumper. Will you make this available or would I have to get something fabricated locally?

Also, any chance of getting sound clips with down pipes installed? I already have an APR downpipe, so I would like to know ahead how much louder these will be with a downpipe. My big issue is to not have any drone while cruising.

I don't like that look either, but the finishers look like they slip over the end of the pipe. I would probably trim the pipe and then place the finishers on to minimize that look.

Hey Josh, is there any physical difference between this and the GTI exhaust? Other than the bend after the midsection, it looks like just replacing the valence with a GTI version would allow the installation of your GTI exhaust suite. Is there any way you can confirm this? Thanks!

Ok so I'll try to clarify

Stock:
Golf: 2.25" with a left outlet
GTI: 2.5" with a dual outlet

Aftermarket Downpipes:
Both Golf/GTI downpipes are almost all 3" (Neuspeed I know is not 3" and there is one other but I'm blanking on the name.) Most companies include a 3" to 2.5" coupler.

Aftermarket exhaust:
AWE Golf: 2.5" left outlet
AWE GTI: 3" dual outlet
Autotech Golf: 2.5" left outlet
Autotech GTI: 3" dual outlet
Magnaflow Golf: 2.5" left outlet
Magnaflow GTI: 3" dual outlet
Bull-X Mk7: 3" center exit
Corsa GTI: 3" dual outlet

Basically every "Golf" specific option is only a 2.5" exhaust. So if you were to couple it to a GTI exhaust some portion would more than likely be 3". Hence why I asked if there would be a full 3" version.



The APR downpipe includes a 3.0" to 2.5" coupler so in theory it should fit just fine! (You may have to buy a short piece of 3" or 2.5" to make up the gap from cat to the catback.)

Am I the only one that thinks this car doesn't sound that great? I'm coming from a mk6 2.5 and love the sound the inline 5 makes. But this 1.8tsi sounds very muted.

The MK6 2.5 isn't turbo and the MK7 1.8 is, so our cars are a lot quieter than if it didn't have one. Yeah I've heard the AWE exhausts on the 2.5 and they do sound amazing.
