Is that one on the transaction?

You have 15 days from when an item is marked as "delivered" to open a claim on AliExpress. If the USPS tracking number is the only one on the transaction, that timer will start tomorrow when whatever is getting delivered gets delivered. Far before the actual engine it sounds like.

Now PayPal... Apparently PayPal has dick for protection against transactions on AliExpress. So be careful there and don't rely on it. @dtfd could probably offer more insight on that side, he just went through a useless PayPal claim against AliExpress.

I'm not trying to raise alarm or get you worried or anything. Just want to make sure you put yourself in the best position just in case something doesn't go your way.

Crossing my fingers for you haha. I would stay in contact with the seller since they should know where it is. I feel there can definitely be some trickery/weird stuff sometimes because one time I paid for AliExpress Premium shipping on something and it first showed a very quick progress into the US on AliExpress, but then magically the tracking history changed after a week or something and showed it was still in China. But ultimately it still got to me. Of course in this case this is an entire engine so you’d hope some more care is being put into tracking where it is

Yeah. I'd wait to see what you get delivered tomorrow. It's just weird they'd send something with a separate tracking number, tied to the AliEx transaction. Unless it's like import/custom documents or something maybe? Idk, I've never had an engine shipped internationally lol.

I would just hate to see you in a situation where something got "delivered", and a month later you still don't have an engine, but can't file a claim because the window closed, and PayPal is telling you to pound sand.

For me I've bought stuff that says delivery by USPS, only to have UPS show up. They hand it off I guess.

So I confirmed with seller prior to receiving this, they said they had sent out a brochure of all their offerings. Looks like that’s what I received.

Still waiting for an update on the other tracking number. I should have another update later this evening regarding its whereabouts.

For the sake of transparency, I’ll probably inform them that I will be opening a dispute simply as a form of protection on my end. Although their communication has been pretty spot on, you just never know.

So I confirmed with seller prior to receiving this, they said they had sent out a brochure of all their offerings. Looks like that’s what I received.

Still waiting for an update on the other tracking number. I should have another update later this evening regarding its whereabouts.

For the sake of transparency, I’ll probably inform them that I will be opening a dispute simply as a form of protection on my end. Although their communication has been pretty spot on, you just never know.

Still seems shady to me. What does a brochure have to do with the order? What legitimate reason would there be for paying for tracking and attaching it to your order?

FYI, for the greater group in general.

Paypal will "protect" your purchase, in the sense that you will be able to get your money back, however you will be on the hook for sending the item back to the seller, and no they're not going to negotiate around that.

I ended up in a situation where I paid $300 for an item and PayPal said AE will agree to full refund on the basis that I ship the item back to the seller in China. Cheapest shipping quote was $150.....

I ended up working with the seller to get them to send me another one free of charge, so now I'm waiting for that to come in, but the moral of the story is PayPal will make sure you get a refund, but you're on the hook for return shipping and in some cases that's going to cost more than what you're going to get back. So it really depends on what you get, if you get anything at all.

AE might require the vendors to scan and ship items in X amount of days so this might be the companies work-around while they get the actual engine ready to ship (or source it?)

Wish they offered mkv gti engines I woulda totally gambled on that as well.

I have a feeling they are gonna send the engine, def open the dispute just in case though.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. Even if it isn't an outright scam, they're doing that to game the system or something, which I don't like.

The order page says they adjust the shipping cost after purchase. No way they're shipping a 300lb motor for free.

For the sake of transparency, here’s my order receipt email. I’m by no means encouraging anyone to buy these engines..I simply came across this and have the funds to gamble on a neat (hopefully) functional solution to my lack of an engine.

Did you pay the shipping costs? Says on the link provided item doesn't ship until paid.

And express it the only one that should get it delivered to you directly according to their info.
