So the two people have ordered from are Zhongqi and Shanhe, right?

Zhongqi had the threads missing from the head, and Shanhe had a missing freeze plug and lack of SAI, right?

Plan on having it machined, so as long as the block and crank are solid, very tempted.

I haven’t yet fully looked at the Shanhe block but both lack SAI for sure. Freeze plug was missing in Zhongqi, and of course the threads on the valve cover, and also a few dowel pins and sleeves that I had to transfer over.

Also make note that the Zhongqi engine is ran “hot” prior to shipping. The Shanhe engine I received was not ran/tested “hot” prior to shipping

The company I went with said if its all new no test is done and remanufactured they'll test it and send you a video of it running.

Looks like i damaged driver side axel lowering and raising the lift toget the motor out.
Think ill have issues if i dont replaced the hub?

No clue tbh, but if it aligns and bolts up, I’d send it

Did you give the ali reps your vin when ordering?

The SAI threads are cut, just head not drilled for SAI. The non tapped threads are designed to be tapped when installing the bolts, thats my understanding, thats how VW builds them. Its things like the N80 bracket, the coolant tube that bracket on top of the head etc. PCV too i think that are untapped.

That bit is just a grease cover. It'll be fine.

Got my motor today. Sadly it wasn’t in a crate when it arrived and the thing was handled like hell. Upper oil pan and lower oil is destroyed. Contacted ZHONGQI we’ll see what he says. Pretty bummed, *could* transfer upper and lower from my original engine but I really hate to take apart a new engine and mess with timing ect.

Got my motor today. Sadly it wasn’t in a crate when it arrived and the thing was handled like hell. Upper oil pan and lower oil is destroyed. Contacted ZHONGQI we’ll see what he says. Pretty bummed, *could* transfer upper and lower from my original engine but I really hate to take apart a new engine and mess with timing ect.

Hopefully, you paid with PayPal. They will probably fully refund you and more than likely get to keep the damaged motor.

Didn’t use PayPal but did use a Credit Card with top notch protection so not really worried about getting the money back. Just bummed overall though lol

Dang man that really sucks. What was missing in the packaging? They must’ve really mishandled that to have caused that damage.

If you took photos and stuff in a timely manner soon after delivery, I’m sure you won’t have an issue getting a refund or a replacement.

Weird. Seems like most get it in a crate. Maybe they’re trying to save some bucks. Keep us posted on how they handle this, I wonder how good their customer service is..
