It sure seems like it when looking at the markings outside. Although I haven't opened the engines to look at all the bits inside.

Got it back up and running. Still runs smooth on idle. Time for a test drive, and I’ll take a look at the coolant and oil soon once it cools a bit.

looking back, I think that oil that was on the lower oil pan was coming from a leaking oil filter housing gasket

Not sure yet, it is still on the new engine. I haven't been in a rush to swap engines because I really don't think my engine is bad. I've had a cyl. 1 misfire, no load, mostly cold start misfire that throws an unavoidable CEL. I have changed: injectors 4x, plugs 4X, coil packs 4X, HPFP, swapped valve lift solenoids, changed intake manifold gasket fuel rail, n80 valve, PCV, removed cam tray inspected rocker arms and valve springs, electrically tested injector harness, Leak down = 3%, compression 150PSI, of course walnut blasted intake valves, borescoped cylinders, no carbon, plugs always look really good, no vacum leaks. Engine never misfires under load, when warm, just putting it in drive is enough load to stop the misfires. When cold, and idle drops, its a dead miss. fuel trims look good. Only code is p0301. 150K miles, started at 140K and hasn't really gotten worse or better. Driven me to insanity. Wouldn't care, but I have to be CEL free for inspection.

I am trying to build a 4 port head similar to ecotunes 4 port head. The head doesn't come with cams... What cams do you guys think I should get(or need), the OEM cams to 4 port style head or just the stock golf r cams?? I would think the stock cams.. hmm

You bought the CUF engine head? 06L103064E one? For my understanding, CUF engine was "economy" version of EA888.3. Economy in therms of construction with many gen2 "leftovers" (pneumatic actuated wastegate, regular thermostat, etc.) and as fuel economy version (like every 1.8TSI, Power class 1 are always more "efficiency oriented" more than higher power classes) So OE cams for CUF gonna be "efficiency oriented" cams, unlike golf R cams.

According to ETKA (well, partslink to be precise, but work almost like OE ETKA):

Intake cam 06L109021S (previous number 06L109021N, replaced by "S" in 06/2021) is used in: CJXD,CYFB, CJXG,DJHA, DJHB,DJJA, DLRA,DNUE
Exhaust cam same engines (previous number 06K 109 022 AT, replaced by "BR" in 07/2021)

Crankshaft 06L105101D is used in: CJXD,CJXG, CYFB,DJHA, DJHB,DJJA, DLRA,DNUE, DHHA, CHHB,CNTC

Control valve 06L109257G is old version, superseded by 06L109257H in 11/2022

I cannot check head number because is "china exclusive" and is not available to check in partslink (as almost everything "china exclusive")


So if they offer you 2.0 PC2 (power class 2) cams, PC3 cams from golf R would work as well

Which oil pump? I'm currently only buying the head parts from ali.. salaving my old block and rebuilding it with a local shop. A new oil pump wouldn't be a bad idea because I don't know what caused the OG motor to fail, looks like it was oil deprived.
