I tried searching, don't think anyone has noted this before?
In May 2020 the IIHS released a study that run 2015-2018, considering "2017 or equivalent" model years of cars, and found the standard VW Golf one of a handful of cars that had zero fatalities, and even the GTI isn't far behind... see for yourself:

There is nothing on the VW "Golf R" I guess there is too little data? they only sold like 3k of them a year..
Anyways, what do you guys think? They seem to be pretty sturdy...
