The worst thing with Car-Net is the Feature where you can send an address to your Nav from the buggy smartphone app. In both my old 2017 Jetta SEL and even on the new 2019 GTI I have, the addresses never correspond accurately to what displays on the in car navigation. For example if I put in 123 Main St. in the phone app, the address that pops up in the MIB navigation will be like 356 Main St. This also happens if you have a car-net rep send an address to you while your driving. If car-net let you do remote start on Golf/GTI and remotely adjusts climate control, I could justify paying the 200+ dollars it costs a year.

Never used Carnet. Once the trial expired, that was that for me. Don't see the need for it.

You can't buy Carnot as he's been dead for over a century.

I don't use Carnet, but the backlit buttons in my overhead console were annoying me, so I took the console apart and disconnected those buttons.

Has anyone called and gotten Car-Net at a discounted rate? The app is helpful to double check I locked the car and make sure it's secure, but the asking price is absurd. I'd pay like $50/year, but certainly not $200+. The fact that VW now includes it for 4 years makes me think there may be a deal to be had.
