How are the EQT OTS / base Accessport tunes?

Did you notice any difference in driveability around 3000 RPM's where Ed said the stock tune was bleeding off boost in part throttle?
I was able to test this this morning, and yes. Coming from 1.10 the whole thing is much smoother, but the spots I'd typically get hiccups during my drive are now all smoothed out greatly.

Nick did my whole tune start to finish. I don’t have anything bad to say about Nick. Revisions were quick and I’m pleased with the quality of the tune.

I’m pretty sure Ed has handed over most of the online tuning to Nick as far as I can tell through what he has said on the EQT Facebook page.
That doesn’t bother you? If I commissioned Rembrandt to paint a portrait of me and his apprentice did it, I wouldn’t be too pleased...

I see your point, but I don't agree.

It's Equilibrium Tuning, not "Tuning by Ed Susman". Nick is an experienced MQB tuner, if Ed gives him his blessing, to me that is equivalent of Ed doing the tuning.

Yeah I was real up in arms about it at first as well. But I thought about it and read Ed’s post about bringing him on again and he shadowed Ed for awhile and has been on the VW platform for years. Additionally he had been tuning under Ed’s supervision as well before he got turned loose on his own. So he seems qualified and I doubt Ed would willingly bring an incompetent person onto his team to trash his reputation that he’s worked so hard to build within this community.

Long story short I trust Ed. If he’s confident in Nicks abilities, then I am too.

I def think you’re both right. I guess it’s just about one’s expectations and like kya said, If you’re expecting/wanting/trust EQT as a company vs Ed himself as the tuner. Party on, enjoy!

Got my 2.0 update last night. Flashed this morning and went for a quick drive. Tune felt good, no issues with the DV, burbles work as advertised. Car really feels solid right now.

One thing however is I'm not too thrilled with my IAT's right now. I've had the magic/majesty oem location intercooler for about 18 months now and typically get within 10* at WOT and around 15-20* over ambient tops cruising/highway speeds. Today even when cruising at 45-55 mph I was seeing temps at 25-30F over ambient, unusually high. I did get a log in, in 3rd gear at WOT I saw decent temps, but on the same pull in 4th gear I couldn't even keep them under 10* over ambient. Slightly concerning, I popped the hood after the drive and took a quick look, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I may investigate further if this continues.

I can't imagine it has anything to do with the tune. I will continue to monitor.

I don't see why the tune would change that. The main change on the tune update was the DV control around 3000 RPM at 40% throttle. What was the ambient temperature compared to when you are comparing it to?
