High beam assist control module fault

Hi all

I have been having problems with my high beam assist for quite some time. Every time I turn my high beams on, I get a "clean windshield error". Scanning with OBDeleven I get a fault code C10B2F1... this doesn't mean much and a google search pops up no results... It doesn't really bother me as I find high beam assist a gimmick, but if I still have it as a feature I'd want to know what it could be... my original thought was the sensor might be covered in dirt but even after complete wash and detail I still get the error

Thoughts?

Does it give you any error descriptor other than the internal code?

Sounds like the camera isn't getting a clear view, therefore the "clean windshield" complaint. Has your windshield been replaced? If so the camera may not have been replaced properly, and/or there could be dirt or crud obstructing it from the inside. I let Safelite replace my original windshield and they COMPLETELY screwed up the camera area (among other things).

Nope, windshield has never been touched

But I was wondering if that camera is at the top near the rear view mirror and is the same one that controls the auto wipers when raining, because those don't work anymore either... although, again I never paid much attention because I don't use auto wipers

Rain sensor & camera are both located behind the mirror - 2 different devices. But if both are on the fritz, must be related somehow. Hmm.

VCDS can give detailed information, depending on the fault. When I had a speed sensor fail intermittently it told me exactly which sensor failed and which systems depended on it.
