Hi all, i have a mk7 gtd, my heaters are only blowing hot on the far passenger side vent, ive read about broken cogs etc, could this be the case with mine, (the motors are working as i can hear them when turning the dials), if so can someone please point me in the right direction as where to look, what panel to take off etc, thanks in advance,

There’s been a few similar cases reported recently on other VAG forums - limited heat, warm airflow on one side of cabin and cold on the other. A possible reason for lack of heat might be a blocked heater matrix.
Worth having a read of the discussion threads at the links below;

So even though i get heat from one side of the car it can still be the matrix ? app both pipes going into the car are hot, does that make a difference ?

Update on this. It was the matrix blocked, new matrix and now have heating on both sides. Just a question though , a friend has just bought a seat Leon from auctions. And guess what ? He’s got no heaters DOH, he emptied the header tank and no bag, BUT should the actual bag still be in there ? Just the beads that have gone into the system ?

Does the expansion tank actually say it has a silica bag?

The vast majority of clogged matrixes are from the casting sands during manufacturing.
