Has anyone gotten the P2681 Code Before

Has anyone gotten the code P2681?

Had this pop up today and its telling me the engine Coolant bypassing valve control circuit open.

When I looked this up its telling me to replace the part number 4H0121671D.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Bad Tstat. Replace it and the pump at same time.

Is this control valve attached to the Water Pump/Tstat? I would rather replace it with an aluminum aftermarket one instead of the OEM one since they are so prone to leaking

I don't think the mk7 has an aluminum Tstat replacement available.

because the valve is in the t stat housing that is why there are no new alum. options yet. my guess is having to cast a new housing and then dealing with the valve attaching to the body of the housing. *leaks*
