Standard or performance package? How much power you putting down with those mods? I'm in the market for a mk7 GTI.

You drive like a little old lady - i never heard the tires cry for mercy once. :)

I do like the sound of the DP and Intake under load. Makes me want a DP more (if only they were not so expensive).

And from my motorcycle days in turns you want slow in fast out. Set the entry speed as you enter the turn and start accelerating from there. At the apex you should be able to be fairly heavy on the throttle if not full. Even at street speeds this add some nice G-forces to the drive, and smiles to the face.

Afrobaron, I assure you it wasn't slow. I have 255 width tires, on 19" wheels. If my tires were to screech I'd be driving way to fast as 50 over is roadside suspension and immediate impound where I live, I kept it just a tad under that for almost the entire time except the long straights. Everyone in the group pulled over to the side of the road at the end of the video because they thought someone might have called the popo on us.

For now... Try setting youtube to 480P, the video is much smoother and the sense of speed is much better, I watched it on 720P and it felt a bit choppy, even on a computer with 16GB of Ram and a 2GB Ram nVidia video card. I will be hitting the track on August 8th, so I'll post up a faster video then.

Never did do a dyno run. But people with the same mods put down between 284 whp and 303 whp, depending on boost setting. I had it on the base setting so it'd be around 280 to 284 whp.

Thought it was somewhere in Ontario, then saw you're in Toronto and went ah ha! I'm guessing somewhere near Muskoka, like Sparrow Lake?

Haha don't worry about it, that's as specific as I'll get. I often drive from Ottawa to that area to a cottage and that route has some fabulous twisties. I actually look forward to the 4+ hour drive.

Hey our "GTIs In The GTA" Group might be doing a trip to Quebec to run this ROUTE:

Would you like to join us? No date yet, still gauging interest. We had 16 cars up in Muskoka, will probably be fewer to Quebec.

If you're interested you can join our group here:

That looks like a pretty cool route! I'll look into it. Another one I like doing is going from Ottawa up to Mont Tremblant via 327 or 317
