Ah, OK Mark V, you set me thinking there. My assumption about the sound actuator was totally wrong. As you say, it is an addition to the soundaktor, and is fitted into the exhaust to make the car sound better outside. I found this sound actuator on another forum (apologies if this is verboten!) which illustrates the 2 systems very well.

No worries T-t - and to make matters worse - VWUK deny that the (internal) 'Soundaktor' is fitted at all!

another little complaint i have is the 'gti' on the red calipers on the pp gti. just bothers me for some reason.

i have already decided that i will debadge the side gti badges, and, maybe the gti on the back trunk. might rebadge the 'gti' logo by getting it painted over in the same red.

so picky!

Hi chaps I am a bit new to this forum ,but but I ordered my gtd back in September 13 and at the time the sport and sound pack was not available nor the rear view camera. I have now seen my car at the dealer ,which by the way has come two weeks earlier, and it has got the same brake calipers as every other golf plane silver/grey.

Sorry to say but if you order the sport sound pack in the UK it does come with redbrake caliper,
Also the sound pack as a speaker in the exhaust system and the rear exhaust box is removed

Has anyone bothered to aftermarket paint the calipers?

Colour aside, the calipers are different to the standard GTi ones?

Use g2 caliper paint, i've used it before and worked great.

For US spec GTI w/ PP:

Upgraded front (340mm) and rear (310mm) brake rotors and front calipers with GTI logo

vs. standard

Red brake calipers on front vented disc brakes (312 mm) and rear solid disc brakes
(272 mm)

Collected my Tornado Red GTD - if you order the sound and sport pack, I can confirm that the calipers are Red and there is a totally different exhaust system and sound - we'll worth the money and the head turning by other drivers is so funny
