So, got the compression test done and here are the results. I know that there’s a myriad of things that could cause this difference in pressure, but planning on getting a carbon cleaning first because I’ve never gotten one and then performing another compression test to see if any of the numbers change.

Cylinders 1, 2 & 3 are fine but seems like something is going on with cylinder 4. I would do a leak down test first because I don't think carbon cleaning will change anything.

Drew…. Been wondering that myself. Guess if leak down test still shows issue, ring replacement time?

leakdown will help determine exactly where you're losing compression. could be a valve, not necessarily rings.
Okay thanks for that really.....so THAT could determine if carbon build up is culprit...yes?

3rd grade question I know, but thanks for giving me hope for this......really hope it's carbon
I'm not sure if it's that easy to pull the rods with the motor in, labor-wise valves might be simpler. Unless you're referring to a chemical clean for the piston rings, which I wouldn't put much hope in.

Alright…. Car turned in for fuel recall. New DSG tune ordered through Stratified too and next revision of flex tune received 👊🏻

Recall done…. Super quick and easy.

Uploaded revision 8 from Strat, but had no time this weekend to make some runs so shooting for Friday for those. Alex is taking some load off the fuel system as it’s struggling a bit up top….so we’ll see.

Uploaded the Strat IS38 DSG tune (2260 is close enough to use the same tune). My gosh is there a difference from the IS20 EQT tune I was using….. this new tune holds each gear longer, which was always my complaint about the EQT DSG tune…shifted waaaaay too early. But this Strat tune also downshifts much earlier with less fuel pedal applied which makes it match more closely with the gear you should be in. So far, very impressed

Now to my compression issue. Leak down scheduled for first week in Oct…all shops slammed for some reason. Really hoping it’s not a block problem …. I’d take valve seal over ring issue any day. Trying to get seen earlier… Will update this thread

Hold the phone

According to the VW manual, even though my cylinder 4 dropped to 172, it’s way within spec

having run every level of low.....from springs, to coilovers and air ride.....I'm now thinking I want to lift it.....tired of avoiding crap in the roads and having to side-entry every driveway/entrance. Looking at the B2Bfab lift kit....dropping to 17" and adding some AT tires lol
