Huh, why are you installing (more importantly tuning) with port injection already then? You’re not going to gain any additional fueling this way, if you running out of fuel via direct port at the moment then it’s your fuel supply limiting things not the injection window and direct port injectors. You need the in tank pump in tandem with the intake port injector.Definitely. the only thing I'm not upgrading yet is the lpfp, so you'll have to fill me in on that.
yup all good points AJ....unfortunately, can't get the lpfp and I'm not waiting around for another XX months with MPI sitting in a box. I'll work with Alex to smooth out the curve to account for no lpfp for the time being.Huh, why are you installing (more importantly tuning) with port injection already then? You can def. Install the intake and mpi kit now but really don’t see a point in removing you hpfp or having the tuner turn on the mpi (unless you want the “cleaning” to start now) You can install it all and just not have it functioning… mine been like that for over a year, cause I’ve just not cared enough to start the re-tuning, I just installed it cause I was doing the waterpump at the time and it was a “while I’m here”
Yeah great point as well. I’m def learning the hard wayLPFP is definitely a bottleneck first. You can install MPI and just not enable it, but then you've got combustion byproducts covering the injectors with no fuel coming out to clean them. Otherwise you're probably going to pay for two tune updates, doesn't seem worthwhile to me.
Something similar happened when I installed my Cobb flex fuel sensor with the incorrect push connector. Yeah….. fuel everywhere is no buenoWhen you're doing the MPI install, use lube, make sure the injectors are fully seated in the rail
If you don't, seals might tear, sending fuel all down the front of your engine bay. No comment on how I know that
Don’t forgot you need a controller with that route.Although I could snag a 525 Walbro to drop in

it was just a matter of time lolGretel's build….. is now a meetup thread
Looks like some really nice mods,.....aaaaaaand of course, new AS3+ tires and rally armor mudflaps (left over from my WRX days)

yeah though it'd be cool to meet more forum folks, I've got a couple things that need done on the GTI but nothing major (and of course, inspection/emissions) and I'd be planning around the autocross/rallycross schedules but I think we can get something together. We just did K1 Speed in Sterling(?) and it was a pretty good time, as always Mrs. Nine was top dawg by ~.3s
I think it's like Williamsburg and Newport News that my family is in, not sure where everyone else is but just trying to get an idea of travel time. Farthest is like 3 hours so definitely not a bad drive, especially if we were to make a weekend out of it.
thanks...I love the mud flaps look, but prob left over from my WRX days. DSG tune is ALWAYS advisable.....makes it how it should have been from the factoryLooks like some really nice mods,
No stone left unturned?
Not sure about the mud flaps, though they look better than most
Is a dsg tune advisable on a stock 2.0?
