Maybe for now…..boring
says the man who can't even run his racecarNo boost = limp dick.
Lol... But that's by choice. It runs and has boost, just not driving it.says the man who can't even run his racecar![]()
ahhhh so you're just fine tuning the tune then....gotcha.Lol... But that's by choice. It runs and has boost, just not driving it.
no boost = poor ring seal. mahle's instructions: let it warm up at 25% of max rpm, drain the oil, take it out and baby it with lots of engine braking for 20-30 miles, then do half a dozen wot pulls to 5k or so (with more engine braking). drain the oil again. switch to synthetic after 100 miles.Alright....
swapping of accessories will be taking place today and engine install hopefully finishing by Friday. Per his break-in instructions, looks like I'll be driving like a grandma for about 600 miles (300 miles between oil/filter changes) and may then start introducing boost. No E85, so will be going back to 93 for the next 650 miles or so.
Yes... I've been "fine tuning" it for the past 6 - 8 months now. In all seriousness, I'm going to finish it at a shop that has a hub dyno sometime after the holidays.ahhhh so you're just fine tuning the tune then....gotcha.
I'm just relaying what BBT said......I'll throw that his way....I've read 4 different ways and thoughts to properly breaking in and they're all different.no boost = poor ring seal. mahle's instructions: let it warm up at 25% of max rpm, drain the oil, take it out and baby it with lots of engine braking for 20-30 miles, then do half a dozen wot pulls to 5k or so (with more engine braking). drain the oil again. switch to synthetic after 100 miles.
lots of different ways, but both mahle and JE say to put the engine under load within 20-30 minutes. anyway if he's giving you a warranty, do what he says. but i'm curious if his warranty covers blow-by or he just says to run an APR plate.I'm just relaying what BBT said......I'll throw that his way....I've read 4 different ways and thoughts to properly breaking in and they're all different.
