Got to love North Texas

Below is the weather forecast today for north Texas. First line of storms (not all that strong) are minutes away. The strong ones may be here while my new car is out in the elements. I will be keeping a close eye on it and hopefully be able to come home and put her in the garage if the large hail hits.


"Here's the new severe weather outlook for later today with an enhanced severe risk expected across parts of the Hill Country, Central Texas, North Texas, Northeast Texas, and East Texas with a whole bunch of large population centers included. The strongest storms today could produce destructive hail larger than the size of baseballs, damaging wind gusts over 70 MPH, and the possibility of a few tornadoes. We're going be busy later today!"

Fortunately for me the bad stuff stayed to the West. I am sorry it hit you so hard. The only bright side I can think of is that you didn't have you R yet. Hang in there my Texas friend.

Yeah, the R would have been in the garage no doubt. Here are some pics of the carnage around our house and a few of friends cars. And sadly, if we have to pay our huge deductible to fix the house, my R order will be delayed a couple of months.

It's all over. Most likely totaled. If you Google Abilene TX hail it will bring up a ton of articles and pics of what happened.

When my car was 2 days from being delivered to me, there was a severe storm with a hail rain in town that literally destroyed both ford and mitsubishi dealerships, the city got hit really bad. (its totally uncomon here, this kind of storm so they were not prepared to receive rocks of ice from the sky)

Well, at volkswagen, the outside parking lot was full with cars to be delivered, and there is ONE washing cabin with a ceiling, where, guess whose car was?

my car was intact while others had to be repaired, and their delivers delayed!!
