OK, update.

Just took the car for a spin. In real life driving and reversing it appears that all is working OK ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘

Select reverse, camera opens, image appears with yellow lines active - and by the looks of it quite well calibrated. Deselect reverse, drive forward, camera stays live until speed reaches just over 10mph, image disappears, camera closes after about another 10 seconds.

So when the car is stationary and reverse is selected the camera activates, when reverse is then deselected and the car doesn't move forward there is no signal to tell the camera to close. This does not seem ideal, not sure how much of an issue this might prove to be - time will tell.

So initial feelings for potential fine tuning (and I haven't checked OBD11 yet)

Is there any place in the coding to change the camera closing time - currently around 10 seconds?

Also any place to change the forward speed for camera to turn off - currently around 10mph?

This is actually a feature, not an issue. The camera stays open until you reach 15Km/h (9 Mp/h).

This is to make it easy when maneuvering out of a tight parking spot which requires a lot of gear switching between drive and reverse.

Ha ha, see my latest essay ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Sure, glad to help you by spreading my knowledge!

As for the timeout when stationary - I believe itโ€™s 20 or 30 seconds but could be wrong. Donโ€™t think itโ€™s possible to be coded otherwise.

But eh, who cares. At least you got the image to show finally! Cheers mate.

OK, so having successfully got the reverse view camera working with fantastic help fro @Fraysa, I now have a few fault codes remaining that probably are link to this install.

Anyone got any ideas please?

Hi guys, and specialy @Fraysa, (specialist on this item)

I bought a camera with harnes from the german ebay, already parameterised accoording to the seller.

I have been busy installing my backup camera and learned a lot from this forum how to do yourself with my OBD11 pro program.

Finaly after entering the longcode from Fraysa i now have the rear view on my display, the longcode in the unit was empty, only zeros.

I did not want to swap the camera unit direct because i was worry that could not open the trunck if something not right.

So still have two issues:

1. The trunck will not open with the new camera unit connected to wires

2. There is still a problem in module 6C: "No Basic Setting".

Who can help me with these problems ?

Calibrate to remove basic settings. Easier said than done; I don't know anyone who's successfully done it.

Theoretically just placing the correct calibration board in the correct position and running the correct basic setting, but it always fails on this particular part number and no one seems to know why.

So have you 'got' to go through the process of this calibration to get rid of the errors?

I'm assuming it can't be bypassed and coded out?

I'm only asking this because my camera looks perfectly calibrated to me ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป
