Hello, I recently purchased a golf R 2015... is there a way of getting the sat nav or updating the software to allow me to get it?

If it wasn't fitted with a satnav, it'll need a GPS antenna, & different head unit & different screen....either a bigger PRO version fitted or the new glass look..

There are several companies in the UK who do retro-fits, this is one of the top three...
