Golf R Resale Values?

Trying to convince the wife a Golf R is a good buy. Admittedly, I rarely keep cars longer than 2-3 years but have always purchased and intend to continue to do so - i will roll the equity in my WRX into the Golf R finance. I have been considering the A3, A4, TLX and Golf R. To look at resale values I went on Kelly Blue Book and checked the trade-in value of 2015s of each vehicle with 30,000 miles in Very Good Condition. Here is what the average trade-in for each was:

1) Golf R - $30,005

2) A3 Prestige - $26,362 (Premium Plus was closer to $24,000)

3) A4 Premium Plus w/ Tech - $25,096

4) TLX 3.5 SH-AWD w/ Tech & Advance - $24,274

Obviously its not exact, as i guessed with some options. However, does the Golf R really hold its value that much better than all these other cars. All of them are right around the same negotiated price as the Golf R or more, yet have significantly less value on trade in.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There should be no convincing the numbers don't lie resale value remains very high
I usually by new cars every 3 years but absolutely love this car and will be with me till it decides to quit on me
As for Kelly blue book there always conservative in there pricing as private sales have yielded more of a return
Like I've said before golf R is in a league of it own imo

1) Golf R - $30,0005

$300 grand is slightly high for a Golf R.

Here is a summary of my experience with VW over the years:

My 2013 GTI (Bought Oct 2012, for 22,500) traded in Oct 2015 for 16,500. 2007 GTI bought CPO in June 2011 for 15,000, traded in April of 2014 of 10,500. Even my base manual 2006 rabbit (18,500 in July 2006), sold private sale for 10,000 in July 2012. I don't think that is bad at all.

My 2004 R32 bought used from a Saab dealer in May 2005 for 27,500, traded in to VW in July 2006 for 29,000.

Current R, bought new in Oct 2015 for 33,200 (2016 MY base manual), current market seems to still be around that number for private sale and maybe 30-32K for trade in (not that I plan to get rid of it any time soon).

Jettas on the other hand... 2003 GLI bought new in Dec 2003 for 19,600, traded in Mid 2006 for 10,500. Current 2014 Jetta SE, bought new in April 2014 for 17,200, maybe 9K on trade and 10k private sale.

So to summarize: R models hold well, GTIs (especially lower trim levels) hold decent, Jettas suck.

Well VW's saying 76% resale with 30k miles on a 3 year lease.

I just traded my '16R 6MT/DCC/NAV with 22k miles for $32k and got it for $37k 17 months ago.

Resale is insanse! Yeah you can score an awesome deal on a GTI but when you wanna get out of it, you'll take a bath.

Wow, I didnt realize VW estimates such a high resdiual. Makes me wondering if leasing is smart with a residual that high. Regardless, the resale value is heavily steering me toward this car versus the others.

Typo? Residuals have been floating around 67% for 36/30, which is still very good.

Negative

I just got my 2nd R about a month ago ... I asked for lease rates,

this is what was offered:
MSRP 40770, money factor was 0.00212 x 2400 = 5.088%

15k miles 73% is 29762
12k at 75% is 30577
10k at 76% is at 30985
