Golf MK7 Seat Swap

Hi All

I have beige heated leather in my car but I want to change the seats to the GTD material heated ones. Apart from physically swapping them out do I need to swap the seat airbag modules over or anything ? I presume the plugs will be the same ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Easiest way I've read says: Remove your passenger occupancy module and harness, swap both your harnesses onto the new seats. Install replacement seats.

Mk7 and Mk7.5 have different plug configurations.

Well the seats I purchased from ebay arrived , the plug was all damaged , however when I removed my seat I have three connectors and the GTD heated ones only have two connectors..

Is there a way to get around this by adapters or something ?

Red plug is a Mk7.5 seat, Black receptacle is a Mk7.
Take your old seat, and your new seat, lay them side by side on the floor with the seat cushions facing down. Follow the wiring upstream onto the seat bottom, and find the next set of plugs. At the next set of plugs upstream of the seat to floor connector, the plugs should be identical between the two seats (from what I've read). Yes, there are adapters out there, but they're not inexpensive.

You also want to swap over your existing passenger seat occupancy sensor from your original passenger seat to the new seat.
