I've just taken delivery of my Golf Mk 7, 1.4 SE DSG and see that it has a small roof aerial rather than the advertised rear window aerial. Does anyone have a comment about this? Someone told me that VW make small changes all the time; I'm not sure whether this is true or not.

What type of roof aerial, is it a small flexible aerial or of the "sharks-fin" type? On the Mk.6, the presence of a "shark's fin aerial" usually indicates factory-fitted Satnav - mine has RNS510 and a small "sharks fin" as shown below.

From my experience of what I have seen I agree with DW58. No factory fitted satnav = no aerial. Factory fitted satnav = shark fin aerial. I wouldn't mind if mine SE had the fin aerial should it help to improve radio reception. Have you got a built in satnav in your car?
