This may be a repost, so apologies in advance...
I was curious and decided to hit up the German VW website for GTI information. When I clicked on "Modelle", and then Golf GTI, this video starts playing....

First thing, its in English (which I believe will be used for most markets), and 1) the GTI pictured is the 'Performance' model as it shows off the bigger brakes in red with the 'GTI' on them 2) Its showing LED's for the tail lamps (this one may or may not say much about the US spec model, but I'm happy we'll get them)
Marketing 101: Know your audience!
This makes me believe that the model they will offer will be the one we're all hoping for (pretty please). I mean, why would VW neuter the GTI for the US market? We're they're bread and butter!
