Only had my 3 dr Gti pp manual in white for 3 month
Just bought a golf r in lapis blue 3 dr dsg
Found the Gti ok in the 1st 3 gears but terrible in later gears
Manual are not as good a box as older golf models
To notchy and vague
I reckon Gti is a tad better interior
Prefer the red stitching eye to the r which is boring boring
The r engine is a lot better and better noise
Anyone else gone from one o the other

I so like the R but if I was to trade my white gti pp it would be for the clubsport S

I traded in my 2016 GTI 5months into ownership for a 2016 R DSG. I have to agree the R was night and day different in terms of power delivery.

I did in a way. I had GTI 6MT for 4 month and then I had spine surgery and can not drive MT now. So I gave GTI to my wife and I bought DSG Golf R for me. She sold her EOS since she has GTI now.
Since my surgery is better and sometime I can drive GTI but not for long drives. Still I like to take the GTI out for a the fun of MT.
