2014 Golf 1.4TSi blu
Hey guys,
I'm new here, I've never posted anything in other forums but I'm a bit lost and I need your help.
First of all, my car is a 2014 Golf 1.4TSi bluemotion. It was imported from Japan so it is right hand drive (I live in Cyprus so that's normal for us).
A few weeks back, I was driving the car (motorway - 7th gear - 130kms/h) when it decided to disengage gear and rev as the car was in neutral. I released throttle - reapplied throttle and gears came back to me. BUT!!! After 1 second every single warning that has to do with driving aids appeared on the screen (photos 1&2) but no transmission warning. I kept driving (as you do with this many warnings) and 20 minutes later gear disengaged but never came back. That left me stranded on the side of the road, I put the lever on P and then Transmission fault appeared on the screen. Gear lever remained locked on P and the car wouldn't start for 1 hour until the flat-bet arrived.
The mechanic (VAG Specialist with all the original VAG software tools) narrowed down the issue to a faulty transmission lever, which of course is not repairable as it is sealed and we need to find a new lever. That wouldn't be a problem but VW Cyprus can only provide the part for European RHD Cars. My lever's part number is
(photo 3) but VW Cyprus can only provide the
5Q2 713025 R, which we tried but will not communicate with the cars computer as it should. The car moves but transmission error is still shown on the screen, so at any given point I might get stranded again. We also tried 5Q2 713023 AT but it won't even start. I have searched everywhere but I had no luck. Do you guys know where I can get this 5Q2 713 025 J part? Any sources of Japanese used car parts? Any help or advice will be so much appreciated.

I bet a parts supplier/dealership in the UK could help you.

Shouldn't volkswagen be able to locate the part that they use for the Japanese market golf?

Maybe try a random VW dealer somewhere in Japan?
