Silly question, but how have those HPA BBKs held up for you? I'm extremely interested in doing the VR550T swap once funds allow me to but I know I'll need some "oomph-ier" stopping power. Heck, I need them right now with all the idiots in NYC just bolting in front of me without even bothering to check their mirrors/indicate. Excited to hear about the software overhaul once you're able to tell us.

I used the regular BBK from HPA for almost 6 years between my GTI and the R, and it performed pretty great. The caliper stiffness was really good and had a good pedal feel as a result, and it used very common C5 Corvette pad shape. Could find literally any compound/manufacturer for it. I upgraded to the XTR setup, which is on par with the AP Racing kits and has a lot of specialized components in it to keep the heat down on track and not compromise stiffness despite the quick change bridge. It did well on my 2 shakedown runs and did not get a chance to really push it super hard as I couldn't turn TC off for those days (suspension faults kept resetting it). The XTR pads are GIGANTIC though, 18mm depth and tons of surface area, they are Stoptech ST60 shape, also with tons of applications for compounds/manufacturers.

Looks like a few days delay now, they just found the source of a small, intermittent coolant leak I had been complaining about. Turns out the passenger side CSF radiator is just slightly leaking.

I guess as the system pressurizes this leaks a lot more, but ultimately was never enough to leave a visible puddle under the car. Argh.

OTOH, the washer bottle replacement is pretty cool: fits right up in the passenger fender liner attached to the firewall.

Hey folks, I'm still alive. Have the car and barely been able to drive it due to work owning my life. Had to cancel a few planned track days because of it too.

Caught an updated video of the cold start, which is very different this time around vs the previous tune!

Man I wish. The engine should be able to take 800-900 with a stock bottom end though. I can't imagine where I'd put all that heat when lapping it.

It's a complete ground up re-write of the ECU tune and really the drivability from before is night and day, and we're in an iteration loop to tie up all the finer driving points.
