Interesting timing for this thread to pop up as I JUST got some stuff cleared out of the garage after moving in about a month ago so I was finally able to pull the cars in (minus one that is in storage still)
I still need to decide on floor and figure out my storage solutions.
The whole area in front of the Bronco will be workbench/toolbox/assorted shelves and cabinets...where all of that crap is piled up right now lol

I would be the happiest guy ever to have a garage anywhere near that size.

Lol it was literally the only thing I had input on while designing/building the house.
I wish I could've gone 3 wide, but the lot just didn't allow it with what we wanted to do for the house.
I could fit another car in front of the Bronco, and probably one in front of the GTI if I had it up on casters and could spin it 90 degrees.
4 post is going where the GTI currently sits. So there probably won't be room for a sideways car at that point, but then that's the purpose of having the lift.

Man those are my favorite OEM+ option. Jealous

Don't be too jealous, they are just cheap ECS reps (Alzor). Think they were around $400 for all 4 wheels back in 2016 :ROFLMAO:

That is your winter setup?! Dayuuuum

I've driven in some pretty heavy snowfalls, like 5-8" unplowed roads and blasting through 1'+ mounds from snow plows, and I have yet to get stuck. The thing that really gets me is when the ice ruts build up in my alley.

Not as much traction as my wife's AWD but it's totally doable!

love the woodshop portion of the garage you've got going.

What's going on with the clamp storage here? have any plans you want to share with the group?

Nothing set in stone yet, but it's starting to look like this will be my new garage.

When you pull around the right side, there's a 3rd garage door that leads to this

Garage is heated (not cooled... yet) and insulated.

So this was my dad's house, and the garage was built by my stepfather who was a mechanic. He retired and sold the house to my dad who lived in it for a few years. My dad passed away recently, and everything is trending towards me buying my sister out of her half of the house and moving us in.

I will end up loosing access to about half the garage though. Prior to him passing, him and my uncle started converting one of the front bays (the one on the left in the first pic) and the loft into a separated apartment for him to live in. I said I'd still be fine with that plan continuing on, he's family. I just warned him he might want to factor in some sound proofing 🤣

So I would still have the bay on the right, the back bay with the lift, and that lower roofed back section... still plenty of room to turn it into a bitchin' garage. He planned on using a dual zone mini-split in the apartment section for heat and A\C, I said I'd be willing to kick in some money as well to go with a 3 or 4 zone system, so I can have one in the 'main' area to cool it in the summer as well. The apartment plans also include installing dormers on the non-solar side of the roof; he (my uncle) planned on sinking $100k - $150k into the renovation. Since he's paying out of his pocket putting equity into a house he doesn't own, the agreement was he wouldn't be paying 'rent' per se, but splitting the utilities\taxes\insurance. So still a win.
