I've got a Helix unit for sale, already programmed for the GTI on the high output file (not the reduced bass file).

I have the unit itself and the longer wiring harness. You'd need to re-acquire or re-make the small 2-pin adapter that connects the black/yellow wires to the OEM 2-pin harness in the back of the glove box unit (that's the best way I can describe it, i don't believe there is a part number). I was not able to get this off of my MK7. Should be quite simple to re-make or replace.

Selling because my MK7 was totaled, unfortunately I'm told the Helix is completely incompatible with the MK8 (which is unfortunate because the 2024 S sound system is atrocious

Looking to get $275 or so for the hleix. I'm in central PA and would meet someone within a reasonable distance, I would be open to shipping it out but it's kinda large and heavy and I don't have the box anymore.

I also do have a set of OEM non-LP MK7 headlights. No issues with them, housings are in good shape. Some minor rock chips in them, nothing major. I upgraded my MK7 to BMP Illuminators which I wasn't able to get off of the car before the insurance company took it. Not sure what the value of these would be, but if I had to throw a number out there I'd like maybe $250 for them, but I'm more flexible on these.

Still available! I also have the OE headlights (non-LP), an upper timing cover w/gaskets, and complete, new, OEM PCV valve/hoses/etc.

Please note the Helix does not have the little 2-wire black/yellow adapter that goes into the back of the MIB unit but it does have the complete long body-length harness.
This still available?

I have no idea what that is, I'm new to the VW GTI, but I'll look!

Isn't the two-wire black/yellow dongle used to adapt the Helix to RHD configurations? Or am I thinking about something else from the kit that goes unused in North American installations? If the former, than not having it would be no problem for Fishwhistle13

So, maybe - when you buy the Helix new, there are three wiring harnesses you get - the huge long main one, a small 2-wire black/yellow (which I needed, and do not have) and then another small 2-wire black yellow but has a connector on both ends. I didn’t end up needing the third one for my 2017 GTI S (US-spec). I do think anyone with some basic car audio experience can easily replace the little adapter I don’t have (apparently people sell these things secondhand without any wiring at all!)

I really wish I was able to get the other adapter off of my old car, but the salvage company towed it away from the yard before I ever signed any settlement paperwork. Thankfully I pulled absolutely everything out of it when it got hit (right in front of my house).

Here’s a photo album of everything I have.

I will find a picture of the little adapter I’m missing to be more upfront - it’s certainly something that can be replaced. You may honestly be able to order it directly from Helix, they do still sell these new.

So, here is a photo album that explains a little better - https://ibb.co/album/Yc8MKr

The first picture is the complete harness. This runs from the unit in the spare tire well, up the passenger side of the car, behind the glove box in your MIB unit (CD player, brain for the infotainment).

The second picture highlights the black/yellow wires.

The third picture is the little adapter I couldn’t get out of my old car. The black and yellow wires I circled in picture 2 will plug into that, and then the black and yellow wires from that go into the back of your unit.

Honestly I’m not sure this is even needed now that I think about it, but it’s been a while since I installed it in my MK7 so I don’t really remember. I didn’t take a picture of that specific install step (go figure) and I don’t really remember why / if this adapter is even required. I’m very confident the adapter could either be replaced via Helix themselves or simply re-created by someone that knows car audio.

There was a little jumper that was for the RHD setups....looked like this:
