If you (or the owner) has VCDS an Autoscan (that will get us ECU and Infotainment hardware/software info) and adaptation maps for 01 - ECU and 5F - Infotainment would be helpful. Maybe also a picture of the software version page from the infotainment. All that could be compared with the same info from people have the performance gauges but showing absolute.

If there was a way to correct this- i would Love to see what your referring to rather than the 3-5 psi- its so annoying.. i can Do the math but I’d rather see “vacuum” at idle… at one point my digital gauge showed 0.0 psi and then when VW updated my info tainment system, it switched to the 3-5 psi.. it’s a coding thing.. I’m surprised even OBD11 doesn’t have a fix for this yet honestly - 🙄

@Kdubya A software update probably didn't touch much if any coding. Much of the long coding has remained the same from MIB I to II through 2.5. I've had all three in my car.

The change is more likely in software which is why you saw a change after the update. Or in adaptations. Adaptations can change a good deal between the software versions.

@Cuzoe would it not be a simple software update to change a formula to subtract atmospheric pressure? Like i feel As if it’s common sense? Maybe I’m off the rails thinking that

Oh yes, you mean software coding like of the MIB firmware. Yes that would be simple.

You mentioned OBD 11 so I thought you were talking about control module long coding, where the various options are set based on how a car is equipped.

Yes - if that is the correct terminology .. if there would be a software coding correction for this I’d be first in line lol 😂

This was part of my DIY tuning adventure and wouldn't have been possible without the help of lots of other people. I've since integrated the code with Switchleg's Switchpatch https://github.com/Switchleg1/BinToolz. It's not something I would recommend getting into just to change this one thing. It was a project I took on to learn more about the ECU code.
