Yeah good video, but he also mentioned that even after flywheel replacement, the problem comes back shortly. In that case, I prefer to save $1-2k and not do anything and see what happens lol
Exactly my thoughts bud, at the end of the day mines been doing it for 11k in my ownership and god knows how long for previous owners, just don’t get a dogbone mount it makes it worse 🤣

Swear it’s getting worse for me, seems to do it at other rpm ranges, what I find strange is for me it happens more in sports mode than comfort

For me it’s mostly sport too. Didn’t get worse for me, but I haven’t driven much recently

i have now done like 15k miles and its always been there, i want to change the flywheel but its a costly job for it to not be the issue potentially.

not sure if its just my uprated engine mount but seems my gearbox sounds louder when in drive, also someone else who had the same issue as us had the flywheel replaced and the issue went.

For me the sound on P and D is pretty much the same. Stock mounts.

When it comes to vibrations, nothing changed still and I haven’t changed any parts.

Great to hear, I suppose you didn’t do it at VW service?
No mate I had a specialist do it, it was £630 for the flywheel and £540 labour, the flywheel is made by luk but vw have the cheek to charge over £1000 for the same flywheel.

I’m pretty sure you can buy the flywheel cheaper from autodoc at about £500 for the dq381

My flywheel didn’t actually have any more rotational play than a new one but you could push it up and down and side to side

Did they say anything about potential damage that flywheel can cause to gearbox/clutches or something?
