First time out to the drag strip

2017 Golf R, EQT 91 octane stage 2 tune, all of the stage 2 bolt on supporting mods, EQT DSG tune, Bridgestone RE-71R’s. Best time was a 12.092 @ 112.86. Botched one of the starts, but all of my trap speeds were very close in the 112’s. The car seemed to bog off the start, and the last run I had a little wheel hop in the rear.

My times were definitely higher, and speeds slower, but not bad for Stage 1, 91 octane, on all season tires.

Awesome! Impressive how much a Stage 1 will do for these cars, even on crappy 91 as mentioned earlier.

Looking forward to getting back out to the track before it gets too hot. I’ve since changed the under engine motor brace (forgot the name), the DSG tune, and the traction control settings. I’ve also messed with launch control, so I have a better idea of what RPM the car likes the best. Hoping those changes push me into the 11’s.

My launch control RPM is set at around 4K. I cook the tires off if I launch that high. As soon as the needle hits 3K, I let off the brake and the car rips.

TVS Tuning has the best DSG tunes on the market.

I don’t think so. I’ll have to mess around with it some more when I get back into town, but I think it’s set by EQT when you order the tune.
