The flares on the original GTI were black plastic. I wonder if you could modify the flares from an A4 Allroad to get that look?

I've always wanted to do this. But it would have to be a car that I reaaaaaalllly loved and planned on keeping for a while since you have to cut out the original fenders.

Maybe if I buy an R in 4 years after my lease
